We all agree VR is going to change the world, but could it save it too?
In this monthly speakers series and discussion forum we will explore how Virtual Reality technologies could help tackle our biggest environmental challenges. Join us, meet like-minded thinkers, exchange knowledge, spitball ideas and make the connections that could lead to solutions.
For January we welcome Ethan Summers, Founder & CEO Underground Engine Collective.
Ethan is an Emmy award-winning digital environment and VFX specialist with over 28 years of experience in fine art, visual effects, conceptual design, and scientific visualization. His work covers a wide spectrum of fine arts, entertainment, and science projects ranging from 3D software design, interactive education, and museum exhibition. Ethan continues to steer the Underground in ideation and project concept design in endeavors that help to convey leading edge scientific and environmental topics to the general public via a synthesis of cinematic design and immersive and interactive media.
Ethan will discuss Underground's work developing simulation technology that allows people to experience otherwise abstract ideas as hands-on perceptual experiences. From the origins of life to climate change, AI, behavior of social networks, genetic engineering...
Different than VR360 or game technology, Underground's simulation technology allows for open-ended exploration and discovery and facilitates true multi-modal learning where people can learn with their hands and bodies as well as intellect.
