VR & Environment Colloquium #3 - Dr Grace Ahn

We all agree VR is going to change the world, but could it save it too?

In this monthly speakers series and discussion forum we will explore how Virtual Reality technologies could help tackle our biggest environmental challenges. Join us, meet like-minded thinkers, exchange knowledge, spitball ideas and make the connections that could lead to solutions.

After a summer hiatus, we return for our third session and are honored to welcome our guest speaker, Dr Grace Ahn, Associate Professor at the Grady School of Journalism, University of Georgia and Director of the Games and Virtual Environments Lab. Her work has helped establish foundations for the theoretical advancement of virtual experiences in mediated environments and how their effects transfer into the physical world in four different contexts: health, consumer psychology, conservation, and education.

Dr Ahn will discuss how virtual experiences can be used to impact environmental attitudes, involvement with environmental issues, and environmental behaviors.
