Rocket Launch Party: SpaceX/BulgariaSat-1

10! 9! 8! Come experience the excitement of a rocket launch, live in AltspaceVR! And this is not just any rocket launch, this is only the world's second orbital-class rocket to fly a second time! On January 14th, 2017, this particular Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX helped successfully deliver two communications satellites to low Earth orbit (LEO), and in June it will do it again, this time carrying a TV satellite to a geosynchronous orbit for BulgariaSat. After the second stage kicks in, the first stage will attempt to make a guided landing on the autonomous drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You", waiting in the Atlantic.

If rockets can be routinely flown, landed, and reflown, it will dramatically drive down the cost of getting to orbit and beyond, opening up space science and travel to a whole new market. Imagine how expensive plane tickets would be if they could only fly the plane once! The importance of this historic milestone cannot be overstated, you don't want to miss it. The launch is scheduled for June 23 or 24 between 2:10 and 4:10 PM EDT, though this may change. Stay tuned!
