Join us in a hot air balloon during the most photographed event in the world (25 million photos over 9 days!), the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 700+ balloons almost block out the famously beautiful New Mexico sky! We will lazily float in a VR balloon over ABQ's Sandia Crest, the 10K-foot mountain that looms over Albuquerque (and our home on the West Side's @Mirehaven neighborhood, where we watch the balloons over our morning coffees from our advantageously placed back yard). We'll learn about the history of ballooning (internationally and locally), how "aerostats" work, and about the famous "Albuquerque Box" (weather phenomenon allowing balloons to take off and return to the same spot!). Our informal online meetup in social virtual reality is unaffiliated with the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, but we hope you'll attend both events and share what you learn and experience. After the event join us in our digital twin house for Piñon Coffee, biscochitos, and large helpings of red and/or green chile!
