Metaverse & Virtual Reality Over New Orleans During ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems #CHI2022 #CHI22

Subscribe to Sci Tech Chat!

ACM CHI 22, the most important human-computer interaction conference, and one of the most important conferences in computer science, occurs this year in New Orleans. Join us online in a 3D VR Jackson Park floating over New Orleans to discuss issues and insights about human-computer interaction, VR, and the emerging Metaverse. Topics include: education in The Metaverse, self-disclosure in social VR, eating (like, actually!) in VR, human factors & The Metaverse, teaching computer programming in VR, senior exercise in VR, social VR for visually impaired, autism & VR, mid-air typing in VR, a rock-climbing VR treadmill, VR bicycle simulators, visualizing biometric signals in social VR, VR on public transportation, and more! Along the way we will consider how the five famous principles of usability apply to VR: supportiveness, flexibility, naturalness, efficiency, and effectiveness. While visiting our VR New Orleans, tour Mardi Gras floats, checkout a classic NOLA shotgun house, peer down Bourbon Street, and admire the delightful courtyard of The Historic New Orleans Collection. Our Sci Tech Chat in Social VR informal meetup is unaffiliated with ACM CHI 22, but we hope you'll attend both and share what you learn and experience.
