Renowned legends in science and innovation, Dr. Thomas Furness III, grandfather of virtual reality & Ray Kurzweil, inventor, scientist, educator & author with emphasis in artificial intelligence are the special guest keynote speakers for the 2021 Inaugural Girls Virtual Reality Team Business Challenge, July 29 - July 30, 2021.
Their topic is "The Future of Technology and its Impact on Solving Mental Health Challenges."

The Girls STEAM Institute's first Virtual Reality conference is geared to educate and encourage young girls 12-17 to become entrepreneurs and solve world problems. Twelve girls were chosen by representing diversity in geography, age, culture and were assigned to a team of 4 to develop a business with viable concepts to remedy Mental Health Issues.

July 30th, the Business Challenge comes to AltspaceVR. The schedule is:
- Keynote Luncheon speaker is Lorelle VanFossen, co-founder and director of Educators in VR, a global network of educators, learners, students, researchers, and passionate enthusiasts, her talk is entitled, "Land with Dignity and Style."
- Keynote speaker Dr. Angelina Dayton of Virtual World Society, a virtual reality scientific researcher, user experience designer, speaker, consultant & trainer, and founder of Students in VR.
- Presentation & Awards will be handed out in the afternoon Friday after the Teams present their innovation in VR on mental health. Join us for the presentations and celebrations.
