Cobots! Social Robots! Intelligence & Safety For Robotics, In Nagoya, Japan!

Subscribe to Health Systems Chat!

Humans and robots increasingly coexist in shared public and private, physical and virtual, spaces. But robots are dangerous! (Recall that famous RoboCop scene? "You have 20 seconds to comply...") From the factory floor to public settings to hospitals and home care, how can human workers and robot partners safely cooperate? Join Health Systems Chat in Social VR regulars and NOOBs online in a virtual 3D Nagoya, Japan to discuss these fascinating concerns! This informal meetup occurs during (but is unaffiliated with) the IEEE International Conference On Intelligence And Safety For Robotics. IEEE ISR 2021 "brings together an international community of experts to discuss a way forward in robotics for the future of safety and security with intelligence by provisions of new research results and perspectives of future developments as well as achievements of social implementation." By the way, when I was a graduate student I did a project involving using a robot planner to generate instructional text. My advisor went on to become a well-known researcher in the area of collaborative robots, called "cobots."
