Shortages! Of face masks, face shields, ventilators, and hand sanitizer! Toilet paper, paper towels, coins, meat, and freezers! And, looking, forward to next year, global shortages of COVID-19 vaccines! What do all these shortages have in common? Supply chains! Supply chains are the invisible processes and workflows putting what we need where we need it when we need it. Usually, supply chains do their job and we don't even have to think about them. But when COVID-19 disrupted supply chains, through spikes in demand, infected workers, and spectacular shifts in what people need and want, the phrase "supply chain" appeared almost every night on the nightly news. What, exactly, are supply chains? How did COVID-19 disrupt them? What do we do to make sure our supply chains can quickly adapt and scale so our next pandemic is not a repeat of this pandemic, or worse...

PS Our host, Chuck (@wareFLO on Twitter) 3D-printed and distributed 100s of face shields, and is a industrial engineer familiar with many techniques used to manage supply chains.
