Everything I Needed to Know About Comedy I Learned in VR (well okay not everything…)
What happens when you combine stand-up comedy, hilarious conversations, and the outsider take on pop culture? You get Comedy House Sundays: a fast-paced, pull-you-out-of-the-Sunday-night-blues comedy show, hosted by everyone's favorite ex-nun genderqueer nerd comic Kelli Dunham.
Kelli Dunham, host of Comedy House Sundays, had been performing as a comedian for eighteen years when she first stepped onto a virtual stage. In this fun and funny interactive presentation she shares how Comedy House Sundays has grown and evolved as an event, what features have been biggest hits and the biggest flops, how writing for the VR world is different (and the same) as writing for IRL, what she has learned about the nature of comedy from virtual performance, how every VR show can be the worst and best 45 minutes of your life and the delight in performing beyond the rigid gender binary in the virtual world. Audience participation in the Comedy House Sunday's theme ("What Can You Do With a VR Headset") sing-along optional.
